World Can't Wait, OHIO

World Can't Wait is organizing people living in the United States to take responsibility to stop the whole disastrous course led by the Bush administration. We seek to create a political situation where the Bush administration's program is repudiated, where Bush himself is driven from office, and where the whole direction he has been taking U.S. society is reversed.

We have an initial proposal for what October 5 might look like in Cleveland, and a timeline for making this happen. Some of the key elements are:

*Weekly actions, something that engages people, gets them talking, gets ustalking 2 them about the call and 10.05. Suggested places to start--public square, shaker square, coventry, tremont, madison district, board of elections, main library, detroit by phoenix/marcs, westside market

*Co-ordinated banner drops on freeway overpasses coming into/leaving from downtown. This is beautifully demonstrated at
www.freewayblogger.com.

*A call to performance artists and musicians who would like 2 be a part of 10.05.

*We can echo the camp democracy movement cindy sheehan is spearheading. an encampment will move from texas 2 dc in september. We can set up such a "camp" on public square as a way 2 generate interest, this will be a good test run as well for the 10.05 encampment.

*Contacting locally-owned businesses, and local activist group, setting up appointments with the owners, make a presentation re: 10.05 and why they should close up shop on this day and honor a general strike.

*Fundraising yard sales, and more

*Saturating Cleveland with posters and stickers one week prior 2 10.05, including in art departments of local colleges calling people 2 come down 2 this with their work and/or creative expression in the street. also for shops of local artisans.
